coping with ga

I have had amd for ab.out 15 yrs. It started with wet md in my left eye so i had injections for about 2 yrs and then it went into remission. no injections for 7 yrs, but eyesighjt was failing. now at 80 i am going to start injections in right eye because of ga progressing there. i take areds 2 vitamins and gave up driving because of distortion and loss of confi.dence. reading is hard and slow even with magnifiers but i have family support and was surprised how many strangers have helped me when they see me struggle to see something. i start my ga injections in march and i will let you know how i am doing.

  1. thank you for sharing your AMD journey with the community. Your results from injections for wet macular degeneration must have worked well giving you a nice long interval where you didn’t need them. I have GA and still drive. I understand about losing confidence. It’s makes me doubly cautious when driving. I limit it to familiar areas close to home. I recently began getting Izervay for GA. I wish you the best on your treatment in March. Having family support is priceless. Warmly, Sharon Moore patient leader
