Myopic Macular Degeneration

About 3 years ago, my opthalmologist first diagnosed myopic macular degeneration. I had been seeing him 3 times a year due to glaucoma. At first, I thought he meant age-related macular degeneration because, although I had been born with high myopia, I thought that degeneratet considerably earlier in life, and I was 75.

Quick progression

It has quickly degenerated since then and I am seeing a retinal specialist and have global atrophy as well as wrinkling of the retinal epithelial layer. Having lots of problems with contrasting colors and faded environment and TV.

Is my RS correct?

My RS doesn't think it's time for any surgery or shots yet, but I am in a quandary as to whether or not I will do either anyway due to side effects, one of which is possible retinal detachment. I have known my entire life I have always already been high risk for that due to the high myopia.

Not driving now but otherwise doing quite well. Not worrying about the vision difficulty as I know how to cope.
