I am 86 years old and was diagnosed with MD two years ago.

I have an awful time after my injections...redness, bleeding, itchiness, irritation, etc.

It doesn't go away I find I'm getting very depressed it started in my left eye but two days ago it showed up in my right eye my vision with both eyes is very good but I frightened

@CommunityMemberc87bce I can understand that you would feel frightened and it does sound as though your eyes are very uncomfortable after the injections. One good thing is that your sight is still going well after two years, and that's the aim of the injections. Have you spoken to your doctor about the problems after the injections? Many people in this Community think it is the Betadine used to disinfect the eyes which causes the discomfort afterwards. Some people ask for extra rinsing after their shot to remove as much of the Betadine as possible. Another thing some people do is use drops at home to make their eyes feel more comfortable - perhaps sterile, one-use drops. You would need to check with your doctor if this is OK for you, because we have to be very careful of infections. Others use a wet facecloth over their eyes while they rest at home after the shot. Regarding the redness, it is a know side-effect of the injections that they can hit a surface blood vessel and cause redness of the eye for a short period. This is usually nothing to worry about, but you should mention this to your doctor, too. I hope some of these suggestions help you. Yes I have one eye with wet and one with dry. I was having after my injection until I found out if you to tell whoever flushes your eye to flush it to hell and that will help a lot of your problems. Do you use eye drops . I was instructed to use them <inline-mention username="CommunityMember324" user-id="4738511"/> times a day.I use stayne ultra on advice of my dr. I go to the Cleveland Clinic and just love my dr.
