Never Thought It Would Happen to Me!

I was diagnosed with dry MD about 20 yrs ago. Didn't think too much about it as my siblings had not been diagnosed. So in 2019 I had cataract surgery. Could see without readers. Then had to go back a year later and have Yak surgery. Still seeing pretty good.

Worsening eyesight

Then in 2022, my eyesight got worse quickly. Went to Retina specialist. Still dry MD but losing my detailed vision and can no longer drive at night. The not driving at night is a huge loss for me. I tried the yellow lenses and they didn't help. Today I went and got new exam for prescription lenses and contacts.

My preferences for my sight

I prefer to wear contacts as I lose my glasses too much. Or my dog gets them and chews them. So if I can get contacts for distance mainly, I'm hoping I can see to drive at night. I've also been told that the new lights on cars are not like the old ones. I got a new car in 2022 and I think the headlights have contributed to me not being able to see as well at night.

I got a Kia where my old car was a Lexus. I'm going to investigate this headlight issue and may have to get a different car. Anyone else heard or had this affect them?

I'm grateful I can still drive during the day, but not being able to do so during nite has severely limited me.
