Early Progression with MD
I was diagnosed this March 2023 as early stage dry macular degeneration.
Because I wasn't seeing clearly out either power of my bifocals, I went back to my opthamalogist. She dilated my eyes and said she wants me to see a retina specialist.
I did last week, he said I was not early stage, I am now intermediate. I am a very proactive person. I have the Amsler chart to check my vision daily as recommended by the retina specialist. I have made contact with Hadley school for the blind in Wilmette, IL.
It sounds like overkill, but if I learn more about vision loss, I'll be prepared if it happens to me. If not (hopefully), I will have learned how to help someone else who is visually handicapped. I live in an independent senior community.
