I have learned that macular degeneration is not what I wanted and there are concerns about the future. But I often handle bad news by "comparison". We had a family member who died of leukemia at age 5 which is a greater loss than my vision at age 68.

I could name numerous similar stories but to make this short, when I think I have problems, just go to a hospital or similar place and see how well I really have it. I have been blessed.

Dry macular degeneration and it is getting slowly worse. But some of the supplements have helped. It seems vision fluctuates from day to day. OR I am getting used to it. My knowledge tells me it cannot fluctuate as the macular is what it is. However, it does. ??????

 <inline-mention username="stephenjoiner" user-id="3136468"/> I noticed my vision varied day to day. A visit to my optometrist led to a diagnosis of chronic dry eye. It blurs the vision but some days are better than others. If you haven’t already, you might mention it to your eye doctor. You may have something else going on with your vision. I live near a school for children who have multiple and severe disabilities, and their families shop at the shopping centre near me, often pushing the children in wheelchairs. Most of the children can't walk or talk. If I happen to be feeling sorry for myself as I walk in, I certainly don't feel that way as I leave. I just feel compassion and admiration for how those parents and children cope. That is not to minimize the difficulties people with macular degeneration face. Many of us have significant challenges with our sight. Regarding vision from day to day, I have dry macular degeneration in both eyes, intermediate stage. I feel that my vision is the same every day. The only time I notice a change is when the lighting is different. In dull/dim lighting, I definitely can't see as well. I keep taking those AREDS2 supplements, just like you. I'm still seeing pretty well after nearly 8 years. Best wishes, Wendy, Advocate.

I am also a preacher. I could not see the clock on the back wall so they moved it to the front row. You know......you take care of the important things first!!! lol I can see the congregation and drive, but their faces are a little blurry. But after I preached a sermon or two, they made SURE that I could tell what time it was!!!!!
