I have seen ophthalmologists regularly all my life. I was diagnosed with mmd 2 1/2 years ago and it has already progressed to geographic atrophy. Stopped driving a year ago. I am aware of the new shot for that, but am wary of taking it. Have not been able to find any information on whether the side effects are more common with mmd than with amd. I have been told the shots won't improve ga, and if they could make me blind faster, I don't see the point. Have also been taking drops for glaucoma for 20 years and dry eyes for 9. Anyone with mmd-ga have experience with these shots?experience

I hope someone with MMD and GA will comment. Quite a few of our community with GA are receiving either Syfovre or Izervay, but I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned MMD and GA with shots yet.
I have a white smudge in front of my right eye. I know I have AMD (dry) and cataracts. I'll be going to my specialist in a month and will ask him what is that smudge I see?? Is it AMD or a cataract? I keep taking off my glasses thinking they are dirty...they are not! So frustrating.

Itβs possibly both the AMD and cataracts. Let us know how it goes after your appointment. Regards, Sharon Moore patient leader
