Thanks for asking about this. I have a very strange wet AMD journey. I have one scotoma in my central vision of my right eye that spirals with a sparkling light all of the time. It has been there since the beginning back in March of this year. No one can figure out exactly what it is or why it doesn't go away. Now, it has appeared in my other eye out of nowhere and then this dark shimmering dark area has appeared. The doctor said that after examining my eyes there is no retinal tear or detachment, all is good. She can guess that it might be some vitreous fluid swirling around but can't be sure. My other neuro-retinal doctor sent me for an MRI back in May and found a small tumor in my brain but can't be sure if that is what is causing the shimmering lights. He is monitoring it for any growth but says it is in a place that would be very difficult to operate on so we are just letting it be for now and he doesn't want to do anything if he isn't 100% positive. As he said, "no experimenting". They both are concerned that it is now in two more places but not connected to wet AMD as far as they know. My wet macular is actually almost back to a dry state with the Vabysmo injections and my vision is 20/20 in the good eye and 20/25 in the bad eye. No one has an answer but I have found some obscure information on the internet regarding shimmering lights that are not ocular migraine related. I will keep looking until someone finds an answer or that they can pinpoint to the brain issue. If any of you have thoughts or suggestions I would really appreciate any theories. Thanks so much for caring.
